I’m really suspicious to all things said and showed on the internet, and this video is not exception. Somebody please pinch me as this video from 1994 talks about electronic newspapers.
We see newspapers going to e-publishing thanks to success of tablet device, iPad from Apple in particular. But this video talks about future more than 15 years. Just to put this into perspective: 7 years before release of Mac OS X, 5 years before release of Mac OS 9, 3 years before release of Mac OS 8, and a year before release of Windows 95. Read »
This is pretty cool. By using front camera, app developers can create apps that ‘simulate’ 3D, i.e. glasses-free. Front facing camera tracks face position, esentially what angle is looking at the iPad, and adjust picture on the screen.
We track the head of the user with the front facing camera in order to create a glasses-free monocular 3D display. Such spatially-aware mobile display enables to improve the possibilities of interaction. It does not use the accelerometers and relies only on the front camera.
This one is pretty sweet. Invisible mouse! Sure it looks a bit silly with camera attached to the side of the laptop. But it is just the begining. I bet if Apple jumps on this wagon we would see something pretty cool.
I came across this interesting dock idea on Engadget. While there is nothing beyond nice computer rendring of this product, it is rumored to be release at China Sourcing fair happening sometime in April.
While it can charge your iPhone, you can also use it instead of crappy speakerphone and that knob adjusts volume, while mute button is on the top.
No info on pricing nor availability of this “Desk Phone Dock” available yet.
Yeah, yeah, last time alleged screenshots of upcoming Google OS aka Chrome OS cmae out, they shook the internet for 24 hours. Only next day, person who ‘leaked’ them admitted that they were photoshoped. Now, there is another set of Chrome OS screenshots emerged. Are these real?
It is now only a matter of minutes until new iPhone would be presented to the world. It is still at the rumors stage, but it is quite obvious that it is happening.
Apple is having WWDC (WordlWide Developers’ Conference) on June 8 2009 at 10:00am PST Expectations are:
Snow Leopard [available at $29 to existing Leopard owners in September]
Possible notebooks update [Apple has just released updated 15" MacBook Pro - SD card slot, new battery - same as 17" ]
[Apple also updated MacBook - included same longer lasting battery as 17" MBPro, SD Card Slot]
I am quite excited about release of Snow Leopard and possible speed increase of my existing iMac. But what I am eager to see is iPhone.
Such passion to that announcement comes from the fact that my iPhone 3G which I had for almost a year, pack it last week. I am data-less and using my 3yr old Nokia 6103 with awkward typing on those numpad for text messaging and no data. I’ve tried accessing WAP browser, but it took couple of minutes to load Google page and I gave up on other.
What I am expecting from new iPhone? First thing is that will be available on Rogers/Fido networks in Canada the same time it is released in other countries. Be it immediately, next week or next month, I am waiting for it. As far as features, I was pretty happy with my existing phone. The only thing I wish Apple does change is iPhone’s back, it was too slippery. That back was the main reason my iPhone is dead now. It slipped out of my hands and fell hard on the ground. Read »
Upon browsing my regular morning news sources, I stumbled upon video from AllThingsD of Steve Wozniak about new Microsoft’s Bing search engine. Microsoft calls it, not another search engine – a decision maker. As usually, Microsoft wants to help you by making decision for you. Read »
I introduce you another concept design, this time it is Sony PlayStation Portable. Would PSP2 ever look like this? or should we wait for something like PSP10 which our kids will have in 2040?
Just arrived at F5-Expo at Vancouver Convention Center. I bet there will be hundreds tweets, blog posts especially about bumpy start of the expo. Running quickly to the office to grab stack of business cards I thought I would be late for conference kick-off scheduled. Update: Despite computer issues, F5-Staff decided to let everybody with [...]
I’ve neglected my blog for quite some time time now writing only one post per month, if that. With this post I’ve determined to write about all those things I have done in the past 6-9 months but haven’t shared yet. I’ve mentioned our new corporate Rogers Cell phone plans, but haven’t really talked about [...]
Two members of our team were heading oversees, Russia to be exact, for couple of weeks and it was my responsibility to come up with solution for cheaper roaming. One of them was on Telus with World Blackberry while other had personal Fido phone. Telus roams fine in Russia, but bills are outrageous. Telus charges [...]
After shooting Anthony Sedlak at Eat! Vancouver show Friday night, I’ve imported footage from my Sanyo Xacti HD1010 into iMovie 09. I was so happy that by converting .mp4 files into .mov it actually reduces size by 50%. The truth was – it only imported half of the clip.
Saturday, Oct 25th - I just had to order extra shot in my Americano from Starbucks. Even though it wasn’t bad hangover, coming to office at 8am on Saturday is not what I’m used to. I’ve met my friend Igor at Starbucks, two triple Americano with extra shot and we are heading to the office. First [...]
