According to iPad in Canada website, Apple Store employees are advised to not take holidays during weekend of April 24th. Does that mean iPad would be released as promised by Apple ‘late April’ in Canada? I certainly hope so.

If it’s to be released, it would make sense that all three big cell phone providers would jump onboard: Telus, Bell and Rogers. Hopefully they would follow AT&T steps with availabilityof 3G unlimited data plan. On the other side, iPad 3G might not be available in Canada at that time with release sometime later, which will prompt shoppers travel across the board as iPad is not locked to any cell phone provider.

Just a reminder that iPad is to be launched in US this Saturday April 3rd.

According to Engadget, next version of iPhone, sometimes referred to as iPhone 4G which has nothing to do with 4G as in Sprint 4G, to be called iPhone HD thanks to it’s higher resolution display 960×640 up from 320×480 of the current 3Gs model.

Other features to include:

• Front facing camera
• Apple’s A4 chip (surprise!)
• Multitasking, originally scraped from 3.x version

Engadget also mentions release date to be June 22nd.

Just when as you getting more excited, there is a rumor that there will be Verizon version of the iPhone as well. Only us in Canada don’t really care that much, we have 4 providers to choose from (well, fine, 3 as Fido is Rogers)

photo-91Well, I waited for 3 days. Rather than buying it from Apple store, I’ve decided to order one online and paid my price – received it only on Monday. Which now means that I would have to spend evening, rather than weekend, playing with it…

But at least it gave me opportunity to watch Tarantino’s ‘Inglourious Basterds’ – which BTW is another Tarantino’s masterpiece. Can’t wait for HD release now.

It’s on Engadget, Digg, everywhere you look it is there – first screenshots of Google OS aka Chrome OS link

Believe it or not, but it is coming very soon. Would it kill Windows – don’t think so, but will dent it a bit for sure.

Yes, they are fake….

It is now only a matter of minutes until new iPhone would be presented to the world. It is still at the rumors stage, but it is quite obvious that it is happening.

Apple is having WWDC (WordlWide Developers’ Conference) on June 8 2009 at 10:00am PST Expectations are:

  • Updated iPhone [it is 3Gs now read more at Apple's website]
  • Snow Leopard [available at $29 to existing Leopard owners in September]
  • Possible notebooks update [Apple has just released updated 15" MacBook Pro - SD card slot, new battery - same as 17" ]
  • [Apple also updated MacBook - included same longer lasting battery as 17" MBPro, SD Card Slot]

I am quite excited about release of Snow Leopard and possible speed increase of my existing iMac. But what I am eager to see is iPhone.

Such passion to that announcement comes from the fact that my iPhone 3G which I had for almost a year, pack it last week. I am data-less and using my 3yr old Nokia 6103 with awkward typing on those numpad for text messaging and no data. I’ve tried accessing WAP browser, but it took couple of minutes to load Google page and I gave up on other.

What I am expecting from new iPhone? First thing is that will be available on Rogers/Fido networks in Canada the same time it is released in other countries. Be it immediately, next week or next month, I am waiting for it. As far as features, I was pretty happy with my existing phone. The only thing I wish Apple does change is iPhone’s back, it was too slippery. That back was the main reason my iPhone is dead now. It slipped out of my hands and fell hard on the ground. Read »

Upon browsing my regular morning news sources, I stumbled upon video from AllThingsD of Steve Wozniak about new Microsoft’s Bing search engine. Microsoft calls it, not another search engine – a decision maker. As usually, Microsoft wants to help you by making decision for you. Read »

Beautiful – that’s the word I would use to describe this new Apple’s MacBook and MacBook Pro.

One thing for sure is that Apple knows how to do their thing. Sure it’s pricier than some of it’s competitors, sure it might lack some of the features that Dells and Toshibas and Vaios have, but it’s like comparing electronically packed Hyundai with Vorsprung durch Technik of Audi. Read »

Notify Corp. had it in their labs for a while, but now it starts surfacing – NotifySync.

First lets start with NotifyLink itself.

For those who haven’t heard of Kerio mail server – take a look. It is quite nice alternative to Microsoft Exchange. It gives you pretty much same tools: email, shared address book, calendaring, public folders, you name it. What it does not have that Exchange does? huge price tag! Additonaly to that, you can buy dedicated hosting of Kerio mail with many different companies, like Inftek Hosting.

We’ve used this for a while, my iPhone connected to it, iCal with delegated and public calendars, Apple Mail (you can use Entourage as well) with public folders,  AddressBook picks up GAL. One piece that’s missing is integration with BlackBerries. Read »
